Dear Reader,
A few weeks back I was having a video chat with one of my old friends.
He was making fun of my fear of coronavirus pandemic as I have started taking a lot of Vitamin C in the form of fruits, juices, vegetables, and supplements.
He asked me, “Do you think you can defeat the deadly virus by just taking Vitamin C?”
Then I told him one old story about a tiger and two friends.
Once upon a time, two friends were walking through a jungle to meet some old friends in another town.
Inside the jungle, they saw a tiger who was resting near a small pond, a few meters away from them.
The moment they saw the tiger, one of the friends started running fast.
The other friend who was a bit pessimistic, already surrendered to his fate, and lost any hope of survival, asked his friend “Do you think there is any use of running? You can’t defeat the tiger in the race.”
The running friend said, “Who says I want to defeat tiger. I just want to beat you in the race.”
Yes, I know the speed of this monster Virus. Any moment it can reach inside the house without knocking the door.
I can’t remain casual thinking that administration and hospitals will save my life once this virus captures my body. Of course, they are doing their best. Hats off to them for their tremendous efforts even risking their own lives.
But I believe in self-defense.
I believe in immunity.
I believe that Precaution is always better than Cure.
Likewise, I can’t rely on our education system, government, economy, companies, and bosses for my survival and growth.
It’s my duty and responsibility to keep learning, practicing, and sharpening my skills for my betterment.
It’s not about saying vaguely that one day I will become the best in the world.
It’s the matter of becoming better and better so that I can beat you in the race.
