“The customer is not a moron. She’s your wife” is a famous quotation attributed to legendary ad executive, David Ogilvy.
Sadly many marketers don’t take his advice seriously.
They keep making big claims in their advertisements.
They are more interested in people liking their ads instead of ACTING on their ads.
They keep coming with new products without studying their market.
They keep coming with huge discount offers without making profits.
They keep expanding their team with executives who have never sold a product in this ruthless world.
They don’t listen to their customers’ feedback.
And the worst part is they overestimate their own intelligence and underestimate their market’s intelligence.
They forget the lifecycle of a product starts with a hungry market and ends with a saturated market.
However, there are some intelligent marketers who keep studying their market day and night and keep updating their products, services, and communications accordingly to get customer’s attention.
